Enjoy great food, live music and get emersed in the rich African American history of the Hotel Metropolitan, Paducah's African American Museum and Hotel. This historic hotel was built in 1909 by Maggie Steed to offer a place for traveling African American musicians, athletes and politicians to stay, when they were not allowed to stay at 'white hotels'.

Brunch will be served across the street at the W.C.Young Center located at 505 So. 8th Street, Paducah, KY.

Tours of the Hotel Metropolitan will be ongoing throughout the allotted brunch time (10:00-12:30) Each room tells a story and showcases a different part of African American history.

Paducah was a very popular destination on the 'Chitlin' Circuit'.Famous visitors to the hotel include Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Ike and Tina Turner, Billie Holiday, Thurgood Marshall, Mom's Mabley and so many more!

Betty Dobson, Director of the Hotel Metropolitan, was featured in a documentary called "Parallel the Documentary". This film, by B. Danielle Watkins, also features Cinema Systers Film Festival. "Parallel the Documentary" screened at CSFF 2017. Now you can bring the visuals to life...
